Her very first story, Ghost of Us, may seem like just another teen fiction at first glance, but hidden within its pages is a piece of her own heart. In her interviews, she revealed that the book was inspired by her first boyfriend—her greatest love—from Mabalacat, Pampanga.
She also shared that the same person became the muse behind her short story When Sol Meets the Rain. Writing Ghost of Us marked the beginning of her journey as an author, because it was through this story that she found the courage to continue writing despite the heartbreak that sparked it.
She fondly refers to him as the “yellow hoodie musician.” Their relationship didn’t end in bitterness—no one cheated, no betrayal—just a story of love that came at the wrong time. Yet, from that chapter of her life came the inspiration that started it all.
